History of Activity since 2018 - Let's close Toledo's LAST ABORTION MILL and save local lives!
Greater Toledo Right to Life and the Right to Life Action Coalition of Ohio actively worked to close the Toledo abortion mill starting with formally lodging complaints, writing to ProMedica's CEO Randy Oostra, running a postcard campaign and media campaigns, organizing prayer rallies and more. We were sharing about the failures and violations by Capital Care Network and their owner, Terry Hubbard and continually point out the poor quality of care provided inside these walls. These are some of the initial steps taken in an on-going plan to use all means possible to bring about the closure of this heinous facility responsible for aborting an average of 4 babies a day, an unbelievable 1,488 a year!
Throughout 2019, we were formally filing complaints with the Ohio Department of Health and pursuing other regulatory and legal options to bring to light the numerous issues with the operations and management of Toledo's last abortion clinic. In the summer of 2019, the clinic changed hands, names and options to avoid ODOH oversight which limits their procedures to be medical abortions only (no surgical abortions, only chemical). This has saved lives, Amen!
The efforts to pressure and expose Capital Care Center now continue in 2020 and 2021 with efforts during the Covid-19 shutdown to have the Health Director and Governor enforce the Covid restrictions which closed non-emergency medical facilities but somehow exempted the abortion mills. Many hours have been spent to establish that abortion is NON ESSENTIAL and is not healthcare. Efforts continue to challenge compliance with current licensing for surgical facilities and require reform to address loopholes that allow less than adequate care for women in these abortion facilities.
Stay informed. Get involved. Together we can close these doors and save lives!
