CENTER FOR CHRISTIAN VIRTUE SAYS DON'T LET TOLEDO CITY COUNCIL SILENCE SIDEWALK COUNSELORS Saving women and children from abortion
CCV issued the following information regarding the proposed ordinance in Toledo
The Toledo City Council introduced an ordinance to block life-saving pro-life sidewalk counselors from approaching women considering an abortion outside Toledo's only abortion facility on West Sylvania Avenue.
The ordinance is a clear violation of the First Amendment, and will prevent women from hearing from compassionate counselors working to help them learn the truth about unborn life, and their other options outside of abortion.
YOU can help save lives, and stop this dangerous ordinance from taking effect by contacting the Toledo City Council today, and encouraging them to reject this ordinance, titled the "Impeding Access to Health Care" ordinance.
TAKE ACTION: Send the members of the Toledo City Council a short email using the following Talking Points
1. The proposed buffer-zone ordinance is clearly unconstitutional. Toledo and Lucas County have already spent endless resources on litigation. Instead of wasting more taxpayer dollars on litigation, the city should walk away from this dangerous proposal.
2. Children are alive today because of the compassionate work of sidewalk counselors. If you truly believe in 'choice' we should not be passing ordinances that deny women the opportunity to learn about abortion alternatives and support available to young mothers.
3. Sidewalk counselors are peaceful. It's dishonest to claim sidewalk counselors have blocked or denied people access to the abortion facility.
