CCN / ProMedica Update
On January 4th, 2018, Greater Toledo Right to Life (GTRTL) and the Right to Life Action Coalition of Ohio filed a second formal complaint with the Ohio Department of Health (ODOH) against CCN (Capital Care Network) abortion mill.
This time the owner operator of CCN has been caught generating biological waste without proper registration as required by the Ohio EPA. She has attempted to further circumvention of Ohio's healthcare regulations.
This violation - and the blatant disregard for professional standards and ethics it represents - is just another example of her repeated attempts to thwart administrative operating requirements with false documents and misinformation. One might think that, after all the fines, suspensions, and sanctions, the owner operator of CCN would be meticulous about operating within Ohio's public health laws.
Certainly, if she had any respect for ProMedica and hoped to maintain her transfer agreement in their good auspices, she would maintain the professional standards of her abortion facility. Since this is her second offense, the law allows the issuance of a cease operations order, which we pray and believe will be forthcoming.
The Board of ProMedica failed to do their due diligence prior to entering into this Transfer Agreement with CCN. For the second time GTRTL delivered complete sets of our formal complaint filed with the ODOH to each member of the ProMedica board.
Given the preponderance of evidence we have provided, we are now calling on Randy Oostra and the ProMedica board to do the right thing and immediately rescind their Transfer Agreement with CCN, which they have every legal right to do, especially in light of this new revelation.
ProMedica, as a community leader you owe it to the communities you serve, your employees and quite frankly, to your own public reputation. Women deserve better. NW Ohio & SE Michigan deserve better.
Along with our allies at Catholic Charities and others, we are doing everything we know to do to influence ProMedica to do the right thing. To hold the ODOH accountable and insist they enforce existing law as it applies to CCN.
Now we need to do the one thing that can truly change hearts and minds. Let us employ our most power weapon, prayer. January is Sanctity of Human Life Month. Will you commit to praying that Toledo be abortion facility free?
Pray that a thorough investigation be done by the ODOH into our two complaints and they take action to enforce the law.
Pray that ODOH finally render a discussion to levy the full fine against CCN. (Fine was originally assessed in 2017.)
Pray that ProMedica/Toledo Hospital exercise its right of rescission to withdraw from their transfer agreement with Capital Care Network.
